Local dog crèche company Bruce’s Doggy Day Care is celebrating winning another business award – its second in six months.

Founder and director Bruce Casalis was crowned Entrepreneur of the Year at last night’s (6 November) Wandsworth Business Awards.  This follows hot on the heels of Bruce’s Doggy Day Care winning Best Small Business at the London Business Awards in June. Based in Cobham and serving customers in Surrey and London, Bruce’s Doggy Day Care caters for dogs large and small from Bookham and Balham to Walton, Weybridge and Wimbledon.

Around 170 guests attended the black tie ceremony and gala dinner at The Roehampton Club in south-west London.  Bruce Casalis was the clear winner of nine finalists shortlisted in the entrepreneur category Bruce Casalis, founder and director, Bruce’s Doggy Day Care, said: “I’m delighted and honoured to win this award.  It’s fantastic news, not only for me, but the whole team which makes Bruce’s Doggy Day Care such a success, including our adorable four-legged customers.  Thank you so much to everyone.”

Thirty-year-old Bruce’s passion for dogs began as a toddler and hasn’t waned since, with a particular interest in dog behaviour and psychology.  His entrepreneurial ambitions were also evident from an early age when he set up his first company while still at university.  Which is why, five years ago, he brought together his skills and Bruce’s Doggy Day Care was born to provide extraordinary high quality day care services to London and Surrey dogs.

Speaking on behalf of the judges, Caroline Anderson of category sponsor Southside Shopping Centre, said: “Bruce Casalis is a worthy winner.  His entry demonstrated knowledge, vision and true entrepreneurial spirit, combined with strong revenues and a sound business model in Bruce’s Doggy Day Care.  I’d like to congratulate him on winning this award and wish him future success.” Bruce’s Doggy Day Care was also highly commended in the Best SME Business category and a finalist in Best Business for Customer Service.
