Autumn fun in Guildford
This week sees the first day of autumn (23 September), which is when the sun passes directly over the Earth’s equator, meaning an equal amount of daylight hours in both the northern and southern hemispheres.
Better known as the autumn equinox, it’s a great time to enjoy outdoor activities before the evenings draw in and the darker shorter days of winter arrive.
And if you’re dog lovers like us here at Bruce’s Doggy Day Care, The Surrey Game & Country Fair at Loseley Park near Guildford is a must-attend event. It has everything canine from gun dogs, hounds and terrier racing, to sheepdog displays, and family dog show and dog agility.
There’s also stunt horses and riders, horse logging, donkeys, buzzards, owls and falcons, fly fishing, ferret racing, and a food theatre and food hall with lots of local produce alongside other rural crafts and shopping. The Hownhall Shoot will also be organising a day of competitive and have-a-go shooting.
So why not head to Guildford this weekend for all things country life, against the stunning backdrop of Elizabethan manor house Loseley Park.
See you there!
