Day care

Your dog will spend their day playing, exploring and resting with their friends at the New High Wycombe Doggy Day Care Centre.

With our puppies learning and developing in the Nursery our smaller dogs are enjoying Tiny Town field. We also have a large field and play zone for our larger dogs who like plenty of space, all under the watchful supervision of our friendly, expert team.

Our High Wycombe centre also has plenty to keep inquisitive noses entertained, with a Scratch and Sniff and Sensory zone, and after a jam-packed day, our indoor space is perfect for cuddles and a snooze.

Puppy Socialisation

We believe every dog should be social, happy and fulfilled. Early socialisation is key to ensuring your puppy gets the best start in life. Our bespoke Nursery offers a safe and stimulating environment for puppies to learn and grow, fully supervised with a warm and cosy indoor area for lunch and nap time.

We enrol puppies from 11 weeks old, once they are fully vaccinated. We only enrol social and regular dogs so we can be sure we sure your puppy is with likeminded and familiar friends.

Dog Training

The High Wycombe day care centre is a place for friendly, social dogs. We do not attempt to be a training camp or behaviour centre. However, we know that even though our dogs are friendly and social, our clients often want to improve general training and behaviour in the home and at the park.

We have linked up with a few proven, experienced trainers that come recommended from numerous clients and vets. They are familiar with the day care environment, and can assist with one-to-one behaviour consultations or offer classes.

Keeping you and your dog enriched at home

I can't help but tihnk about our dogs who are used to a wide world of fun, exercise, and stumulation and won't understand why we humans are changing this routine! To help, we will be sharing tips and fun activities you can do with your family and dog during this time to keep your pooch entertained.

Subscript to the list to get these emails.

Once again we wish your families and dogs well. Keep safe.

Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes. Bruce’s Doggy Day Care is insured to professionally with specialist animal trade insurers. Our insurance covers public liability; day care, custody, control and transportation of your dog; loss of keys and boarding.

Q: Are you licensed?
A: Yes. We are licensed under the Animal Activities Regulations 2018.

Q: Can I meet the team and see the facilities before sending my dog?
A: Yes. We recommend you do this! Come and see the place in action. Meet the team, ask questions, see exactly where your dog will spend their day, who they’ll be with, and what they’ll be doing. We’re confident you will be impressed!

Q: What happens if my dog doesn’t get on with another dog?
A: Bruce’s Doggy Day Care is extremely strict in only accepting social dogs. This ensures all of the dogs are happy in one another’s company, so it is unlikely your dog will not get on with another dog. In fact, the dogs usually form their own social groups with dogs at the Day Care Centre who enjoy similar activities!

Q: Do you only accept well-trained dogs?
A: No. In fact, one of the reasons people choose Bruce’s Doggy Day Care is that our Day Care Centre often helps with training. Many owners have noticed improvement in their dog's behaviour after attending the Day Care Centre. However, we only accept social dogs that have no history of aggression.

Q: Do I need to be home when you collect or drop off my dog?
A: No. Most clients are comfortable sharing a set of keys with Bruce’s Doggy Day Care to enable us to collect and drop off your dog even if you are not home. All staff who have responsibility of client’s keys are CRB checked.

Q: Will my dog be supervised at all times?
A: Yes. Your dog will be under constant supervision by our team of experienced doggy supervisors at the Day Care Centre, and will NEVER be left unattended.

Q: What happens when it rains or is too cold for my dog to be outside?
A: There is a heated building in every field. You dog will have a choice of comfy dog beds if they would like to escape the weather or have a snooze. The dogs have constant access to the building via a big dog flap, so they can use it whenever they like!

Q: I have a puppy or small dog, can they come to the Day Care Centre?
A: Yes. The day care centre is the perfect environment for your puppy to grow and socialise. We accept puppies from as young as 11 weeks old or once they are out of their vaccination period.

Q: Do I need to book in the same days each week?
A: Yes, but you only need to commit to one fixed day each week. It is possible to add additional days as required.

Q: My dog doesn’t like crates or confined spaces, will he cope with travelling to and from the centre?
A: Yes. The crates are vet approved and have more space than necessary for even the bigger breeds. Very rarely do we find that the dogs have any issues with the van or crates, since it has a hugely positive association for them – it means they get to have a fun day running around with all of their friends!

Q: Can my dog stay at the Day Care Centre overnight?
A: No. Dogs cannot stay at the Day Care Centre overnight. If you require this service, we offer a pet sitting or boarding service.

Q: Do you offer day care on the weekends and bank holidays?
A: The Bruce’s Doggy Day Care Centre only operates from Monday-Friday. However, upon request we do offer small group walks on weekends and bank holidays.
