Bruce’s Doggy Day Care, a local dog crèche and dog walking company, is celebrating its fifth successful year in business with a number of new initiatives, including supporting The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association as its corporate charity.
Based in Cobham and serving customers in Surrey and London, Bruce’s Doggy Day Care caters for dogs large and small from Bookham and Balham to Weybridge and Wimbledon. Perfect for busy dog-owning ‘mums and dads’, the team collects the dogs in the morning and takes them to the purpose-built 15-acre day care centre in Cobham, where they enjoy a day of fun and frolics with their canine friends before returning home in the afternoon exhausted.
Bruce Casalis founded the business in 2009 after recognising a gap in the market for all-day dog care: “I noticed there were lots of dog walking services available, but not all-day dog crèche facilities. Many busy working parents rely on nurseries for their children, so why not nurseries for their much-loved pets?”
Such was the demand, the business has gone from strength to strength, which is why it is celebrating its fifth birthday with further expansion now serving the Walton-on-Thames area, introducing a new dog boarding service, and sponsoring a Guide Dogs puppy.
Bruce Casalis, founder and director, Bruce’s Doggy Day Care, said: “The Guide Dogs for the Blind is a fantastic charity doing fabulous work, and we are delighted to support them. By sponsoring a Guide Dogs puppy – which we hope to name Bruce – through its initial training, we can contribute in some small way to enabling a blind person to gain the freedom and independence such a canine friend can bring.”
Dave Galletly, community fundraiser, The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, said: “The support from Bruce’s Doggy Day Care is much appreciated. Guide Dogs always needs to raise more and more funds to provide further assistance to blind and partially sighted people. We estimate that there are over 180,000 people that never leave their home without support who we’d like to be able to offer our life-changing services to.”
