Autumn is a beautiful season with nature’s glorious colours and, if we’re lucky, some late summer-style sunshine! But it also highlights that winter is fast approaching and this can bring skin and joint issues for some dogs.

With the cooler, wetter, windier weather comes drier skin and coats and stiffer joints. Which is why autumn is the ideal time to start thinking about supplements and adding them to your dog’s food for that extra boost.

  • Regularly brushing their coat to remove dead hair and distribute their natural coat oils for a glossy sheen.
  • Feeding them oily fish will also contribute to coat shine and they’ll love you for it! Tuna, sardines and salmon are great and full of the all-important Omega oils.
  • Ensuring they get plenty of exercise, a fit dog is a healthy dog!
  • Occasionally shampooing them with a gentle moisturising shampoo to help alleviate itchy skin.
  • Relieving stiff joints and arthritis with alternative therapies such as massage and water therapy.

Whatever this autumn brings, have fun with your dog and enjoy the great outdoors with them!
